August 6, 2023
August, the month in which we celebrate the Assumption of the Blessed Virgin Mary, and the time set aside for devotion to her Immaculate Heart. It is desirable to dedicate each day to service to Our Lord Jesus Christ through His mother Mary. The following consecration, written by Venerable Pope Pius XII, is such an opportunity!
Most Holy Virgin Mary, tender Mother of mankind, to fulfill the desires of the Sacred Heart of Jesus and the request of the Vicar of Your Son on earth, we consecrate ourselves and our families to your Sorrowful and Immaculate Heart, O Queen of the Most Holy Rosary, and we recommend to You, all the people of our country and all the world. Please accept our consecration, dearest Mother, and use us as You wish to accomplish Your designs in the world.
O Sorrowful and Immaculate Heart of Mary, Queen of the Most Holy Rosary, and Queen of the World, rule over us, together with the Sacred Heart of Jesus Christ, Our King. Save us from the spreading flood of modern paganism; kindle in our hearts and homes the love of purity, the practice of a virtuous life, an ardent zeal for souls, and a desire to pray the Rosary more faithfully.
We come with confidence to You, O Throne of Grace and Mother of Fair Love. Inflame us with the same Divine Fire which has inflamed Your own Sorrowful and Immaculate Heart. Make our hearts and homes Your shrine, and through us, make the Heart of Jesus, together with your rule, triumph in every heart and home. Amen.
In Gratitude to:
The Saint Benedict Women’s Club for hosting the Ice-cream Social as a way of bringing the community together and welcoming your new pastor. I am humbled by the genuineness of this community; I look forward to getting to know each of you better through the coming months and years!
The Saint Aloysius Women’s Club for not only inviting me and my parents to your most recent meeting but organizing a nice lunch at Panera a few weeks ago. I too genuinely appreciate your sense of community and look forward to getting to know you all the more!
The young people who came to the Server Training at Saint Aloysius, as well as the parents who brought their children, and stayed to learn a bit about the Mass as well. To the other adults in attendance, I hugely appreciate your presence and your desire to help deepen the sense of reverence in our worship.
Ruth McWilliams, for helping to keep your pastor in-line and for organizing the successful server training. Having expressed a desire to see more servers and liturgical ministers at work she has gone the extra mile to see that happen.
The Saint Aloysius and Saint Benedict parish councils. For two great meetings, good decisions and an opportunity to get to know one another. I am excited to work with you all for the good of our community!
Requests for:
Your continued prayers for your pastor and your parish.
Your input on the Holy Water founts – do you like the idea of returning to the more traditional bowls or would you prefer to stick with the automatic dispensers?
Your consideration on how you would like to meet with me so that I may get to know you better and discuss the community and how I can best lead us in the footsteps of Christ!
Together in Christ,
Fr. Adam
